thinkpad x31 keys

Hello, I have an ibm thinkpad x31. it has two ‘special’ keys near the cursor
keys. They are used as ‘next’ and ‘previous’ on firefox. Can I use these
‘special’ buttons instead of the alt-k-n and alt-k-p?thanks
