Main window's focus with active transient

Hi Folks! 

I just discovered a little issue I stumbled upon.

If I open a transient, for example cadsoft eagle DRC window seems to be
a transient or simply konqueror's settings dialog, in tiled mode, I can
switch focus to main application and type stuff on keyboard still. The
application gets the keys and mouse focus back. This is essential for
this f****** eagle DRC dialog, it is kept open while I solve things in
the main window. Even manually overriding an existing transient/settings
dialog seems to be more intuitive to me, since the main window is
actually there.

When the application is tiled, I can switch focus back to it with mouse
but not type keys to it.

Is that behaviour a known limitation, configurable by me or intentional?
