I did, Ben pointed me to it in the bug report.
It's related to the modifier releases but has nothing to do with
some misconfigured modifier map.

Yes, they allow you to switch the keyboard layout. I basically only need
this, when somebody else wants to type on my laptop, who isn't familiar
with the us layout.

The crude patch in the BTS simply adds two bits to evilignoremask.
