Or maybe they've fucked up things the way Debian does, by renaming the
locations. Not merely by altering installation prefix, but also the
library files, header sub-directories, and so on. That said, given the
unusable all-in-one-basket brain damage that the Unis FHS is, Lua should
include the version numbers in the paths and library names by default. 
But an app-dir installation would be much better and easier to use 
(the exact version needed). I suggest compiling manually in the standard
/usr/local locations. It's easy; lua does not use autocrap either.
