I'm using toast (http://www.toastball.net/toast/) to conveniently build current versions of software packages I care about on top of a linux distro. Toast can't handle Ion, because Ion doesn't use autoconf/automake or similar tool chains (anymore). Editing system.mk is easy and I've been keeping my systems up on the latest version of Ion for years. On the other hand, a standard build chain would make it even easier for users to follow your vision (by using tools like toast). Wouldn't it serve your intents to provide a method to build Ion without having to manually edit a file (system.mk)? -- Bye, Andreas
