Using a only a gtk-3 theme

Hello everyone!
I usually stick to gtk themes that provide both gtk2 and gtk3 files, but 
I'd like to know if there is a way to use a theme with only the gtk3 
folder in it. It's possible with Gnome, but is it with Openbox?
