ratpoison and scim

Hello,

Anybody used ratpoison with scim[1], used for inputing languages that 
use different alphabets?

I found since I installed scim, and it is running in the background, 
even though it is de-active, it interferes with user input. I suspect it 
is a ratpoison issue, although not positive.

If I change focus to another window, that the keyboard is completely 
dead (except for ratpoison bindings). Sometimes "c-t l" will fix the 
problem (rxvt). Other times I have to split and then unsplit the window 
(thunderbird).

Its like the focus has been assigned to the wrong thing, maybe.

Other times when I do exactly the same focus change, it works fine. I 
haven't been able to work out why it sometimes happens and sometimes 
doesn't, although I don't think it is anything I am doing.

Any ideas?

How do I debug this issue?
