yes, most tasks are still valid. Though the (probably) most important lies in rep-gtk, 
which uses an old glue-code-generator to bind rep and gtk+. Some generic FFI or 
Gobject-Introspection-based generator would open rep for a wider audience.

So you can freely fork librep on github and send us merge requests. Maintainership is 
usually granted after a given amount of reliability - I'm sure you'll understand.

Sadly we're currently lacking manpower, so your help is more than welcome.
