problem with select function

Hi. I did the select function for my game menu; it's not a typical menu, like start game, test speakers and exit. I will, of course, be putting an exit function in, I just want to do all the important code first. I did the select function the way Damian said to do it, but it keeps telling me it's a badly formatted func statement with func in quotes. Here is the code. Can someone tell me waht's wrong with it? Thanks.

 if $option1 = $RandomLetter Then
  right()
  Else
  wrong()
 EndIf
Endfunc
