webcam in wince?

i have a set top box device having winCE 4.2
installed.
this device allow us to install and use webcam.
But i want to communicate with webcam by programming
in this enviroment as we do in PC by DirectX. A
problem i have that this DirectX verion on WinCE 4.2
does not support us functions or librarys to do this.
so, can anybody give me a suggestion?
