Perl Socket.dll hangs ?

I am having trouble with a perl socket call - it just hangs, and as 
far as I can tell is spin looping.

My handheld is running WinCE 4.2 - is there a known compatibility 
problem there ? Does someone have a more recent build, or should I try 
and build it myself ?
