qt4 and today screen problem

I all,

In my persuit to have Qt4 nicelly integrated in Ppocket PC, I stumbled
on a problem with Smart Minimize and the Today screen.

The thing is that when I smart minimize my Qt4 app (minesweep/"Mine
Hunt" from qtopia) and my app is the only toplevel app, the today
screen doesn't show up correctly, or better put my app doesn't go away
correctly. 
I see "Start" written on the top bar, the minimize button is gone
leaving a blank space, the menubar from the today screen is now
visible, but my app's window is still there showing, but
mispainted/painted only with the background. 
With Spy++ I can't see any weird message being sent to my app. In fact
with Spy++, clicking on find window (PC), and then clicking on the app
area, Spy++ reports is as MY window! So the window is still there
floating above the today screen ??!?

The window is question is a parentless window,
with style set to WS_VISIBLE (0x80000000) and EX_STYLE to 0.

I read somewhere about a today screen problem if your window is
parentless and has WS_POPUP style it will always show above the today
screen.
Could this be related?
How do I solve this, while not removing the WS_VISIBLE from the
window?

I'm stuck on this for days now...

Any advise would be greatly apreciated.
