Reviving a three-year old thread, does anyone know if this more
feasible than it was back then (I did search, but "R" was not named
with ease of searching in mind!)? Ideally not running under a Linux
port, but as a "standalone" app. It would make my year as well! I'm
willing to give it a try, but with my meagre skills, I'd really
appreciate a pointer to how, say, LATeX was ported as a guide to set
me on the way.

Many Thanks - Gavin
