Hello. I am working on porting the latest version of Perl to Windows
CE 5.0, and things are going reasonably well. But the actual platform
I'm building for isn't a Pocket PC or anything like that... it's an
embedded device with no screen. So when I try to compile a function
that depends on GWES (the Graphics, Windowing and Events Subsystem),
it fails, because I don't want to include those parts of the OS in
Platform Builder.

A lot of these functions are there to support Perl/Tk, and I can just
#ifdef them out for my build. But what #define should I use? Should
I create a new #define, named something like WINCE_HAS_GWES? Should I
use one of the SYSGEN_ variables, and hope that people are using a
command prompt where those are set?
