connecting to LAN from ppc

Hi
I am trying to connect to a server running in a machine in
my LAN, from HP ipaq h5550 active synced with my pc through USB.
But I am not able to do so.
But I am able to browse with IE from my ipaq.
Is there a way to do this?(Assigning a IP to my ipaq without any
other external LAN card and only active sync)
