ssh on CE2.11 (MIPS) - concurrent execution for port forwarding?

I installed ssh from http://www.rainer-keuchel.de/software.html on an IBM Z50 (CE 2.11/MIPS) and it seems to work fine, except for a key feature which was my main motivation in the first place - port forwarding to use other applications in a secure fashion... It seems that data may not be able to flow "through" the port- forwarded connections opened by ssh unless the ssh program itself has focus on the desktop of the CE machine. As an example, I have a ssh connection open, then start a telnet client that is set up to communicate through one of the ssh port-forwarding paths. The telnet client does not appear to send or receive data with it's intended host unless I can arrange that the ssh window is visible and selected. As an experiment, I tried using a simple shell script on the host for each window that would display current date/time once a second. If I minimize the ssh window, wait a while, then restore that window, the accumulated outputs would all appear at once. I've tried several programs as the "secondary" application (npop, vnc, telnet) and all have a similar sort of behavior. Is this normal behavior for Windows CE? I have successfully used the port forwarding ssh setup on other machines, but not yet on the CE 2. 11 machine... Much tnx, Dave [email protected] ------------------------ Yahoo!
