serial to usb converter registry settings

can any 1 plz tell me, how can i configure a usb to serial coverter as 
a normal serial port in my winCE 5.0 based device. 

i do have the cab file installer for winCE4.2 which installs 
"USBSER.DLL". will that driver work with winCE5.0? 


and another thing is that, what all changes i will have to do in my 
platform building? do i have to change common.reg or platform.reg? if 
so what changes are required? 


any help would be greatly appreciated
