Placed DLL in GAC with strong name-Cannot access

Hi 

I have created a small .net dll, created a strong name key file, attached to the dll, built it and placed in GAC using gacutil and I can see the my dll in the folder c:\windows\assembly along with other dotnet dlls.

My problem is that I cannot add the reference to my console application.Even when I try to add it is not showing in the references list.

Please advice/suggest how to get this rectified.
