I've found the problem, the DBA has put a cluster on the development database and not replicated all the tables. The SQLServer client , Visual studio , ISQLW are attacking the correct database, the test server goes through a load balancer and attacks the replication. In the imortal words of H.J.Simpson ... DOH!
