It is small; I cater for quoted strings, strings that may or not be quoted,
but are surrounded by '%' to indicate a data field, not a literal, and
strings of the pattern Sum(<fieldname>), or Count().  It is also a migration
application which will only be used for one or two months.

It's just that late at night, when I have time to explore more than just
getting the job done, that I come up with questions such as my OP.
