Installing .Net framework 1.1.432 on Vista with 3.5 framework

I'm trying to install the IssueVision DevDays sample application and it requires the 1.1 framework. "THEORETICALLY" the frameworks should play together nicely, but "practically" I wonder if installing an earlier framework is going to "screw something up".
