Thank you guys for the suggestions.  The first article Marc linked
provided a good bit of background on exactly what I'm trying to do.  My
'peers' - the machines that will run a small app looking for requests -
are all running XP Embedded.  I haven't dealt at all with XP Embedded
yet - getting this process to work should be interesting.
