Short-term C# Positions Open

I have some limited money that must be spent before the year is up, so this
may be short-term work only.  Immediate availability only please.
Relocations wouldn't make sense, so don't ask.  However, some of the work
can be done remotely, though there may be many applicants for that.  Reply

Remote Work (you may work at home in the USA or abroad)

-- Bullet-proofing exstant data-access code objects (vanilla SQL in
ADO.Net, can use Microsoft Access but goal is Oracle on Unix).  Some
data-access objects are  newer and tidier than a few of the older ones, so
there is opportunity to bring the old ones up to standard.  Might be a good
job for a person very experienced in this kind of work who is not yet at
full speed in .Net.  If interested, you might want to outline some ideas
for how you would introduce safe-guards, error-handling, etc.  Collisions
between multiple users are highly unlikely and may not need safeguarding.
Thus the code, though complex, is not a transactional nightmare.  IN
incline to transactional writes but not reads.  Please provide a price per
hour with whatever else you want to send me.

-- ASP.Net.  Implement some database configuration settings using web
controls, using straight Microsoft example templates.  Another good start
for an experienced person without tons of .Net experience.  If I can bind
this position in with the one above and the one below, I would prefer that.

Local or Remote Work (requires networked computers)

straightforward for the right person.  Vanilla SQL code throughout.  We
have Visio Enterprise database models that can generate tables in Oracle in
a two-step automated process.

-- Mini-apps or macros (e.g. watching for Acrobat PDF files, checking the
database, to see where they should go in the database, and moving them
there)

Expert Local Work Only (work in King of Prussia, NW of Philadelphia, PA)

-- Application domain coding.  Understanding of chemistry or science would
be helpful.  This requires some real object design experience and smarts.
We have Rational Rose and the newer Rational XDE if you wish.  If funding
becomes available next year (we have been pressing for this), then this
person could stay on for a longer term, but would need to understand that
there is no guarantee after the current funds are done or the year ends.
