JOB FUNCTION:  Sr. Windows GUI Designer/Developer (.NET, XML, SOAP)

This opportunity exists with a young, VC backed start up that has product
out the door to well known Fortune 1000 leaders in the high tech industry.
As a senior member on the R&D team, you will be responsible for the layout,
design, development, and testing of Windows-based Graphical User Interfaces
for systems management applications.

Responsibilities
• User Interface layout, design, prototyping, and usability testing
• Development of Windows-based GUIs for systems management
applications
• Assist in the definition of SOAP/XML interface to the central
management system
• Unit and integration testing of application GUIs
• Maintaining released GUI products
• Working collaboratively with other developers on a team

Mandatory Requirements
• Minimum of Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field
required
• 5+ years in-depth knowledge and experience designing and developing
interactive Windows Application GUIs using C++, Visual Basic, and/or C# for
distributed asynchronous systems
• 3+ years in-depth experience with Win32 API, XML, HTML, ActiveX and
XSLT
• Ability to take use cases and design user centric application GUIs
that interface with distributed asynchronous systems
• Ability to handle the high risk and pressures of an early stage
start-up company
• A strong commitment to building a successful company
• US citizenship or permanent resident status. AUSTIN based
candidates preferred.

Desired Background

• Experience with user-centered design and usability evaluations
• Experience with systems management and system administrator users
• Experience with GUI representations of large scale computing
environments
• Experience with Microsoft .NET
• Experience with asynchronous interactions with remote systems using
an RPC such as SOAP, DCOM, or CORBA
• Familiarity with data access to a relational database management
systems
• Familiarity with distributed application problems and issues in
large multi-tiered application environments
