It depends. My work is primarily in .NET and Java and from what I've seen, most companies in the area are lowballing right now and seem to be in the $50/hr range. I have seen lower, in the $30 range, as well as higher, in the $80 range, all within the past few months. .NET demand seems to be growing, and there are few people that have more than a few months of solid .NET experience on real projects. If you're planning on getting involved with ASP.NET development, realize that there are a TON of "other" technologies with which you'll need to be proficient: XML, HTML, javascript, database, web application development, deployment, ad-nauseum. -Greg --- G.
