POSITION TITLE: Technology Architect

POSITION SUMMARY:

Provides expert judgment and analysis for the architectural design,
development and implementation of software systems. Recognized as the
technical development leader and resource, this role provides expert
consultation in every aspect of development.

Resolves highly complex technical issues, conducts advanced research, and
identifies product/service innovations. Is familiar with a variety of the
field's concepts, practices, and procedures. Relies on extensive
experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.

As a Technology Architect the incumbent’s role goes beyond technology,
into leadership, team coordination and people management. Technology
Architects serve as role models for our technical staff by mentoring the
team as well as inspiring them to become mentors and leaders themselves.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Performs a variety of complicated tasks and leads the work of others. A
wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected.

Challenges include software engineering of information systems for leading
edge network management services.

· Understanding the overall design, usage, and functionality of the legacy
and renewed technology architecture
· Conduct analysis and define of the overall enterprise level architecture
for the business
· Evaluate and recommending technical solutions that will improve business
processes
· Contributing to or lead specific system development and deployment
activities including: functional requirements definition, proposal
development and vendor selection, conceptual design, logical design,
detailed technical design, template and standards development, conversion
and integration requirements, coding, vendor package configuration, and
unit test, system test, acceptance test, go-live, and production turn
over.
· Articulating components of the entire application and its interfaces,
from a functional and technical level for both client stakeholders and the
team
· Developing relationships with key users as well as business and
technology partners to ease coordination and communication
· Designing standard Microsoft .NET solutions
· Documentation of work and defined standards
· Mentoring application developers
· Ensuring that development standards and best practices are followed
· Ensuring that object-oriented design procedures are followed
· Performing software technical proof of concepts
· Writing and testing application software
· Ensuring development quality, cost, and time objectives are met
· Routinely reporting accurate status


Activities include strategic architecture, requirements capture,
specification, analysis, design, coding, testing, production release
planning, and development support. This position also acts as a liaison to
other teams and departments. Opportunities include project leadership,

Measured objectives of this position include achieving both individual and
team objectives within timelines allocated.


REQUIRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

BSCS, BSCE, BS Software Engineering, MSCS and/or equivalent education or
knowledge, and 7+ years of experience in the field.

· Wide Area Networks and Local Area Networks
· Data Center configuration and operation
· Mainframe, Midrange, and Intel based server platforms
· Practical experience in designing, developing and implementing services
based architecture at logical and physical levels
· Knowledge of leveraging architecture to improve
o Developer productivity
o System and functional availability
o Production stability
o Minimize management requirements
o Track record of delivering scalable, available enterprise architectures
with Microsoft technologies
