Re: how to prevent session creation for search engines

Off the top of my head.. prob use an httpmodule and make sure it's in the
asp.net processing pipeline before the provider so you can handle it ahead
of time.
Unless any of the interfaces for the provider give you that functionality.

The main problem is, we are using the built in session provider which
stores its sessions into a database.

I don't want to 'block' the search engines, but I don't want to create
a session record for each page request they are doing.

I believe I could use Request.Browser.Crawler to determine if the
request is done by a search engine. But I fail to see how to inform
the session provider to not create any session for that particular
request.
