Re: Sharepoint 2007 vs. VS2005

These are not the same type of products at all. There is not really a
comparison. Sharepoint is an application service that provides a
framework for a portal like web.  Could you do the same thing from
scratch in Visual Studio? Yes. But it does provide a good start and
application framework. You can use VS2005 to create new webparts to
enhance a sharepoint site though.

Just a curious question for all.  We are currently using VS2005.  I
started looking at Sharepoint 2007 and was wondering how this was any
different then VS2005.  To me, it looks like everything that is done in
Sharepoint 2007 can be done in VS2005.

 

Can anyone shed some light on this?  Does anyone know of a website that
explores these differences so people can make an informed decision?
