Subsonic looks like something you would use if you want your project to
fail?
I see no FAQ pages, and it looks more like something someone has hacked
together rather than a professional toolset.

I'm trying to use mainstream and professional products.

Maybe use a design template
(http://msdn2.microsoft.com/en-us/asp.net/aa336613.aspx) and a tool like
SubSonic (http://www.codeplex.com/actionpack) ?

I'm looking for a completely fresh start using dotnet 2005 sp1. The
starter kits are all tailored to different solutions, and some of the
ones mentioned on asp.net are not from MS originally.

If it is necessary to start from scratch how does one build a framework
that includes master pages, membership, skins / themes and the
enterprise library DAL?

I would appreciate ideas.

Mark

If I understand correctly and you want a starting point why not start
with one of the sample apps downloadable from www.asp.net?

I would appreciate knowing what is the fastest way to get a framework
for a new ASP.NET 2 client.

I need the framework to include master pages, membership, skins /
themes.

Is there a tool that will autogenerate a basic framework so that I can
then start adding to it.

Regards, Mark
