we are unable to guarantee that any given user has msword installed.

we were thinking along the lines of a SpellCheckingTextBox / RichText
winforms control.
or even a public webservice.

I remember doing a little app in 1.0 that fired up the local copy of
word offscreen, copy/pasted from my textbox into the active doc, did a
spell check (and those dialogs all showed up centered on the screen) and
then copy/pasted back from word into my textbox. Kind of ghetto, but it
worked...

This is a long winded way of suggesting word automation to you... ;-)

If word is installed on your webserver, could you not use that exposed
object?

There are certain fields in our app, .NET 2.0 Windows application, where
users type the text into WORD, spell check it with WORD and then copy
the text into our application. Is there 3rd party software we can
purchase for this or perhaps a web service we can call into?

Thanks,
