Thanks Adrian, I'll look at the stacked grids and HTML. I've been wanting to brush up on my web UI skills, so maybe that's the way to go. Our core product is intranet, so time improving my DHTML and Javascript will be well spent. Although this is a pet project, I do intend to offer it for use in my main application, but many of our clients are running SQL Server Express, and don't enjoy the full benefits of Reporting Services, and none of the benefits of Integration Services. BTW, my grid is for editing text (CSV) file layouts and viewing the files themselves. > -----Original Message----- > From: Discussion forum for developers using Windows Forms to build apps > and controls [mailto:[email protected]] On Behalf Of > Adrian Martin > Sent: 05 November 2007 02:20 PM > To: [email protected] > Subject: Re: [DOTNET-WINFORMS] Grid from TexBoxes is Slow > > My other suggestion would be to try stacking datagridviews dynamically > on a scrollable container control and place that on you form. > > Each datagrid would have its style/layout appropriate to it being data > or heading > > It would be some work to synchronise them. > > > > My Other Other suggestion would be to use html in browser control..... > > > And yet another would be to use reporting services, I've always meant > to look into whether I can dynamically create edit fields for RS - just > not had the time recently.
