Hi Fabian, Thanks for your response. Docs don't always get updated. Kenny Kerr pointed that out to me. I tried the approach of altering the caption, and other approaches, but they were not satisfactory for me; the error message was not obvious enough. I think I read a few years ago that two dialog boxes prompting for user input consecutively is a GUI no-no. Regardless, I don't like it when any application I use has that "flow". Unfortunately, that will be what I have to do. I'll prompt the user for user name and password, and if login fails, I'll have to show a dialog box that shows the login has failed, and prompts the user to retry (yes or no). I wish there were a better way, but I'm under time constraints, and I've spent enough time investigating this already. I'm surprised that MS didn't design the dialog better, initially.
