CodeSmith is a template based code generator. It is very similar to DevelopMentor's discontinued Gen<X> product except that the syntax is almost exactly like ASP.NET's syntax. You can use C#, VB.NET or JScript.NET to write your templates and they can generate code for any ASCII based language. CodeSmith will be released as FREEWARE! If you would like to download a beta copy, you can do so here: http://www.ericjsmith.net/codesmith.htm GENERICS ON STERIODS - Coming Soon!! The next build of CodeSmith will include a custom tool for VS.NET users that will allow the use of CodeSmith to simulate generics. Unlike normal generics you will be able to have templates for much more than just strongly typed collections. You will be able to include a single template in your project and have it generate code from that template based on multiple property sets. We will be using this in our next project for our business objects. Thanks, Eric J. Smith This is a private list, meaning only subscribers may post to the list or view the online archives. Subscribers can read messages from the Gen<X> archive or unsubscribe from Gen<X> at http://discuss.develop.com/genx.html.
