I managed to install and use TPTP after upgrading to eclipse europa. I
think I also failed before that so maybe it works for you in europa.
I haven't tried YourKit yet so I can't really compare but I know the
TPTP profiler worked for fine me. The only glitch I saw was the slowdown
of application if/when you monitor too many classes.

I like JIP, for ease of setup (I've also failed at TPTP) and easy
handling of profiling individual parts of my GUI-driven applications:
