Frank, I recommend log4j, it's simple, flexible and powerful. With log4j, you could use a SocketAppender: http://logging.apache.org/log4j/1.2/apidocs/org/apache/log4j/net/SocketAppender.html In this case, you would have to implement a Java application in the server, in order to receive the serialized LoggingEvents and log them locally the way you want.
