Replying to this message as -- for whatever reason -- I didn't get =20 Richard's original mail. I think this list was and still is one of more valuable Internet =20 resources to the Java developer community at large. DevelopMentor is =20 to be lauded for providing this service for all these years, and as =20 much as I'm saddened by this decision, I of course recognize DM's =20 right to decide so. I'm sure we who participated on this list can =20 probably find another venue to exchange thoughts, even though there's =20= a sentimental value to this particular one on the Internet. I joined =20 this list more than seven years ago, and it always felt like it's a =20 club of likeminded people where I can come to discuss interesting Java-=20= related topics. But as I said, we can probably find another venue. We =20= can use the remaining time of this list to organize one :-) What I'm really sad to see though, is that list archives are going =20 away. I think they're a very significant resource, not just =20 historically. Many questions were answered here in such detail that =20 this list's archived messages can turn up fairly high on relevant =20 Google searches. To this day I'll sometime e-mail people links to this =20= message or that, when I remember something they ask from me was =20 answered on this list years ago. There's real knowledge stored =20 therein, and I'd hate to see it going offline forever. I wonder if we =20= can do something about that - even if just post it as a bunch of =20 static pages somewhere and leave it up to Google to keep it accessible =20= by search.
