New to the Java world

Hi All,

I'm completely new to Java, and come I have a heavy microsoft background.=
 I was wondering what I would to need install on my=20
PC at home to start learning about Web, Messaging,=20
Database development.=20

Are there any web sites to help developers from a microsoft background get =
familiar with Java based development?
