I'll test Jawin and mshtml.tlb (on my XP box) and get back to you. (If I
don't do it soon, it shortly will be a Fedora Core 2 Linux box:-)

For the second part, Jawin is not the solution for you.  Jawin is for people
who are not compiling C++ code at all( except for Jawin developers).
Robert, if you see this, do you have a solution for this case in the jSegue
project?
