I have never used Jawin to imbed activex inside a JFrame, but I think there
is an example embedding internet explorer?

If not, try another product, Jawin is good for on the metal dll and com
access but is perhaps not as mature in terms of UI wrapping, unfortunately,
most of the products that do this well are not free / open source.

The main issue I can see you running into is embedding a heavy weight native
ocx control inside a lightweight Swing JFrame, mixing light and heavy weight
components without some thought using leads to trouble, especially with
repainting of overlaid menus and other things you don't find out about until
you really test the implementation =]
