Bibliograph, netWindows, bugs, and improvements

Hi everybody,

I have adapted the code of Bibliograph to the CVS version of NetWindows,
have a look at it at

Unfortunately, as you can see, there are quite a lot of problems left in the
display, which are probably partly due to my scripting, but to a large part
it seems to be netWindows bugs. Try both Mozilla and Internet explorer, then
you can see what I mean. 

- It takes at least 10 seconds to load ... Maybe some sort of 'Start up'
Pop-up window should be implemented - just like when an operating system or
application loads... Otherwise Users might think the page is not available.
You should have a nice logo to pop up while netwindows loads...!

- First of all, in Mozilla the split-pane window is not displayed until you
cklick on the tiny bit that you can see at the top. The right part of the
window unfolds only partly, and the scroll bars are incorrect.

- Then, the tree design seems to be broken - no tree structure is displayed
in Mozilla, only the titles of the branches. In Internet Explorer, it works,
that is, an image link seems to be broken.

- The size of the panes cannot be changed. 

- If you click on the tree branches, the folder content is loaded (from
cache, not from a database - the whole thing is just a simulation). IE
throws an error which might, however, be due to my code.

- If you click on a reference record, a new window is created which has an
ugly black box below it. Also, you cannot scroll it - I tried it with div
style="overflow:scroll" but this also doesn't work. I also cannot resize it.
IE throws an error and does not display this window, or more, precisely, it
displays only an outline. 

It is a promising start, I think, but it seems there are a lot of issues
left to be resolved... If you want to have a look at the server-side PHP

All of the ZIPfiles have to be unzipped in one folder at the same level for
the whole thing to work. 

I will be away for the next two weeks, so I won't be able to read your
responses before then...
