Dear all,

I have a form inside a tabbed_pane_widget inside a split_pane_widget 
which containes 15 <select> elements with 20 <option> elements each.
For some reason, this slows down the browser to an extent that it 
becomes unusable. All of the interactive elements (tabs, scrollbars, 
drop-down menus) take around 3 seconds to respond. Interestingly, one 
sees flickers where the drop-down menu is going to appear, before it 
actually appears.

I replaced the tabbed_pane_widget by links loading content into a 
content_area_widget, but to no avail.

Has anyone experienced this problem? What could be the problem?
