SOAP performance data and open benchmarks

Is anyone aware of published SOAP benchmarks or other performance data?

Here's what I've come read in online discussions and a couple of papers:

1. Academic researchers found Fast-SOAP to be 100X slower than Sun's
implementation of Java RMI.
2. Systinet's recent SOAP implementation is reportedly comparable in performance
to Java RMI.
3. Function-based RPCs (TCP) were 312% faster than object-based RPCs (Java RMI)
in an IBM Java server benchmark.
4. SOAP is 10X slower than ODBC (i.e., database RPCs).

The DCOM vs. CORBA debate was rather heated for a time but published benchmarks
of DCOM vs. CORBA are hard to come by. On the other hand, there is an Open CORBA
benchmark and results have been published for various brokers.
Is anyone aware of a comparable activity to develop benchmarks for SOAP?
