"Horrible" might have been slightly exaggerated :) Lets just say that
it's simplistic and has many limitations. It also doesn't necessarily
encode that well. It isn't made to scale well, or to encode complex
vocabularies.

If you want to get a better idea, you can have a quick read of
http://www.w3.org/TR/wbxml/, it's a really short Note.

Caveat: I work on producing XML encodings, I'm naturally biased :)
