VB - SQL SERVER problem

Hi,
       I am facing one problem while trying to connect sql server thru VB
Scenario is this...i have my database installed in one machine which is one
one domain... and i have installed my application in one machine which is
not in domain all together. while trying to connect its failing .
and also i tried connecting to the database server from the query analyser
its getting connected. only thru our application its not getting connected.
wat might me the problem..can anyone help me
