One good way to tell the difference is to look at the properties of the
dll file.  All .net assemblies (new terminology) will have an assembly
version reference.  COM components call it a file version. Good bye DLL
HELL!  Microsoft has done a great job and made application design and
deployment sooooooooo much easier and programmer / support friendly!!!!
