They are absolutely separate - so much so in my mind that I was
a bit confused when you brought up the test-writers interface.
So yes, they will be kept entirely independent.

OK... FWIW, the entire nunit.framework is separate from the
rest of NUnit, in the sense that neither of them even references
the other one. So it would be pretty hard to mix them up.
