OK, duh, I removed the <appender-ref> element, but I'm still puzzled as
to what ${APPDATA} is supposed to be.

Subject: Re: [Nunit-users] Nunit and log4net
I installed NUnit 2.4.4 to the CI machine as myself, but
CruiseControl.NET runs as a different user. How is <param name="File"
value="${APPDATA}\\NUnit\\NUnit.log" /> evaluated? Which folders does
NUnit create? The error I get:
Warnings: (4)
log4net:ERROR [RollingFileAppender] Unable to acquire lock on
file \\NUnit\NUnit.log. Value cannot be null.
Parameter name: path
log4net:ERROR [RollingFileAppender] Unable to acquire lock on
file \\NUnit\NUnit.log. Value cannot be null.
Parameter
...suggests that ${APPDATA} can't be evaluated in that context.
