When I try to open NUnitTests.nunit in the GUI, I get the following error message :

System.IO.FileLoadException : Could not load file or assembly 'test-utilities, Version=2.4.1.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=null' or one of its dependencies. The process cannot access the file because it is being used by another process. (Exception from HRESULT: 0x80070020)

Thanks

Ronnie

The message is a fairly generic one
from .NET and can't be used to solve
any problems - the details count, particularly what
"blah" is.

If you
are unable to load an assemby that is designed to be loaded and
run
independently, that's a problem we should try to solve.
Only a few of the
test
assemblies that come with NUnit are intended to be run
that way, so
it's
not necessarily a problem that you can't run
nunit.util.dll.

Were you able to run the NUnit
verification tests after install? You get
them by loading NUnitTests.nunit, which provides the
proper config
file for the individual
assemblies.

If you
are able to run the verification tests, then you are
properly
installed and we need to get into the details of a
particular project.

Subject: [Nunit-users] ...being
  used by another process

  Hi

Sorry for posting on a problem which has
already been posted about, but I'm getting that message "blah.dll is being
  used by another process", etc.

I've tried removing all
references to Nunit and reinstalling. Rereferencing in my project,
  etc.

I'm using version 2.4.7, by the
  way.

There are a few dll files in the Nunit directory which
I am able to open. For example, I can open nunit.util.tests.dll, but when I
run all tests on this assembly, a large handful of the tests fail with that
same message "Could not load...etc...being used by another
  process"

Can anyone please offer
  advice?

Thanks

Ronnie Mukherjee
