NUnit 2.4.5 Fails to open: "NUnit has encountered a problem ..."

I have been using 2.4.5 for a while and have a suite of tests, developed
in VS2005.

 

When I now try to open NUnit I now get the dreaded "NUnit has
encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry ..... etc" 

 

This occurs when trying to run NUnit 'stand alone' i.e. not with VS2005
or anything running. 

 

I have reinstalled - no difference, tried 2.4.7 no difference.

 

I had installed VS2008 but have removed that as well just in case... no
difference.

 

Any ideas as to how I can find out what is going on, nothing in the
event log, so I'm lost.

 

Any suggestions appreciated. Thanks.
