This may be an obvious point, but .NET 3.0 and .NET 3.5 are just 
extensions of the Base Class Library - they still use the 2.0 CLR under 
the hood. So even if you are "compiling" with 3.5, your app is still 
using the .NET 2.0 CLR to execute everything.
